The very first time I saw someone solve a Rubik’s Cube I was around 4 or 5. I brought my cube that hadn’t been solved in years to a family friend. The cube was awful. It had an unusual color scheme (it had pink and purple in it) and it was originally my sisters. I brought my old, terrible, clunky cube to him and he still solved it within a matter of seconds. I was amazed that it had been scrambled for years and he was able to solve it so fast. I wanted to learn how! He said it was a rather slow solve – that the colors had messed him up, but I was still in awe. Fast forward a few years, my first Rubik’s Cube broke (what I know now is my first pop). I’m cube-less for a while. We go on a trip some time later and we’re in Target and I see a Rubik’s Cube with a stand. I bought it and back at my hotel room my dad prints off some directions for it. I solve it a few times with the directions and that was that. A couple years later I see it on the shelf with the directions that I had saved and I start solving it again. I memorize all the algs within a few weeks. I was able to solve the cube around 1 or 2 minutes. I really wanted to get faster at it and learned CFOP and bought a speedcube. I was amazed at how fast it turned. I practiced and slowly improved. I continued practicing and speedcubing for a year or so. When school started I didn’t touch the cube for 9 months and forgot a lot of my algorithms. During summer, I had to relearn and got my pb 14.06 in the process. That brings us to today. Thanks for reading!
Hey! Thank you so much!
